Goleta Pier-Santa Barbara

I first started taking photography seriously as a correspondent for my elementary school newspaper. I worked on newspapers and magazines throughout elementary and secondary school and even college, so most of my photography was journalistic in nature, meant to portray people, places, and events.

As a graduate student I began to travel, so I also have acquired travel photographs for my many trips

I also began to conduct ethnographic research in and around Los Angeles, so I have several thousand photos that, while taken for research, do reflect my aesthetic as a photographer

Many of my earlier photographs (pre-2003) are not yet digitized. I am working on it. What you see now are photographs that have been taken over the past three years
